I was just checking my email quickly, when I found something from NIS America.. And right in the subject line, I found that the new Prinny game's been announced for the US!

Prinny: Can I Really Be the Hero? is a 2D sidescrolling action game for the PSP that stars a Prinny, one of those penguin-like servants from the Disgaea series! Etna sends the poor Prinny off to find her the ultimate sweets, and he has to go off and fight various different enemies on his way to fulfilling his mission.

I think it looks really fun myself, and I'm really happy to see an English version in the works! Hopefully the poor Prinny can manage to make it through his trials, too, so that he can maybe catch a break for once. He needs to at least be able to maybe sleep or something!

If you want to find out more about the game, the official website is located here. Go take a look at the silly teaser movie in the meantime!

So yeah, peace out, dood!

Admittedly, I think the -ssu speech from the Japanese version is cooler than the use of "dood," but hey, what can you do?

So a remake of Klonoa: Door to Phantomile has been announced for the Wii in Japan, and Klonoa's close to his old design, but it seems that his costume's changed a bit... I was looking at screenshots and found this one:

Hmm, no collar.. So I guess it's mine then, huh? X3

(tl;dr, I played Super Mario RPG on VC and it was awesome)

I was just sitting around last Monday, chatting away as usual, when I found something that caught my eye in my RSS viewer (I run Vista, oh noes! But my PC runs it fine XD). It was an announcement of the weekly Wii Shop Channel update, which I'd completely forgotten about, so I decided to check it out and see if anything worthwhile had been added to the service. Much to my surprise, I found one of the games that I've been wanting to play again since it was speculated that it would arrive for download--Super Mario RPG! I was already overjoyed by the prospect of playing the game that originally got me into the RPG genre in the first place, so I quickly tried to get to a point where I could purchase and download the game itself.

This actually took a few hours, as I had wanted to finish my playthrough of Ys Book I & II (Another amazing game made available on the service a week earlier, which I had wanted to play since TurboGrafx-CD games had been announced for the Virtual Console), and I still had a little bit of the game left. But as soon as I finished that up, I raced to the Shop Channel and immediately downloaded Mario RPG with the points that I still had. And then I played almost nightly for a week, until I beat it!

And really, it's still every bit as fun as the other times I've played it XD I even own the game in cartridge form, and had played it a couple summers ago on my parents' TV, but it was nice to be able to play it with the higher-quality signal that the Wii provides. I still have an SD television, but it supports component cables, which is definitely nice for me, as it creates such a crisp picture sometimes! It was nice to see the game with an extra clarity that I wouldn't have had on the original system.

But yes, the game itself was just as fun as it was in the past, and I loved just about every minute of it (Apart from a couple times where I got into more battles than I'd hoped XD). Battles are fast-paced and entertaining, the writing is fun and often humourous, and Squaresoft did an excellent job expanding on the Mario universe while staying true to the characters and the series' roots, almost to a point unmatched by more recent games like the Mario & Luigi games and the Paper Mario titles (Save the original Paper Mario itself!).

The music also adds to the game quite well, and while I didn't know it at the time, it was a soundtrack that led to Yoko Shimomura being one of my favourite videogame composers, along with Motoi Sakuraba, Noriyuki Iwadare, Koji Kondo, Yasunori Mitsuda, and others. As well, the graphics are quite impressive for an SNES title, as it utilises pre-rendered sprites. Now I would like it even if the graphics had been more standard Mario fare, but I suppose the quality of the graphics at the time drew my eye to it, as well as the Mario series content, but in this game, I'm glad it did, as it opened my eyes to a genre of games that I have continued to enjoy as one of my favourites since the first time I played this game.

Now that I've beaten it once more, I feel fulfilled for a little while, or at least until I start playing something else! But I'm glad that I've gotten to have this experience one more time, yet I will likely play it again someday!

(Did I have to write all this up? No, but then, these -are- ramblings, the title even says so!)

Well, I've decided to give this thing one more shot, I suppose. I haven't always gotten this journal thing in the past, but perhaps I'll be able to use it to greater effect this time, and not simply turn it into quiz results, as those are always pretty silly.

As for the content of the first post, there isn't a ton to talk about, I suppose. It's been getting really hot lately, which is tough for me, since I don't really like it amazingly warm, and it's been hot enough to keep me from being energetic as usual. (Read: highs slightly above 90F/32C when I prefer 68F/20C) But at least it's gotten me out of the apartment again, since I haven't done a ton since returning from my friend's wedding.

I guess that's it for now, hopefully this will turn into something good for me.
